Show Your Joy

While people often ask why you are sad, it is rare that they question your happiness. Most of us would rather lather up in pessimism, focus on what is not right in our lives.  If we catch someone smiling too wide or laughing too loud we often wonder “Whats up with that person?  What are they smoking?”, etc. As adults, most of us develop a filter for our positive emotions. We select to play it cool because otherwise would be considered a knucklehead. But when we stifle our authentic joy, we're holding ourselves back from happiness.

Did you know that acting happy can be proved lifesaving? By acting happy, you not only feel happier, but others around you can catch that contagious smile! Remember our childhood song If You Are Happy and You Know It ?

So next time you're feeling happy, get your whole body involved. Raise your activity level to pump up your energy. If you're on the phone, stand up and pace. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Put more energy into your voice. Sit up straight. Laugh and love more often. Even better...

Eat alot...heheh maybe not :-)
