You can be happy starting today! Dont sit by any longer, while friends and co-workers enjoy the good life. Happiness is yours for the taking. All you have to do is reach out and grab it.

So goes the message from everyone from hard-core philosophers to amateur life coaches. The simple truth is that the more you value happiness, it turns out, the more unhappy you will become. Reach for happiness with both hands, and it will abandon you.

According to Henry David Thoreau “Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.”

So there it goes - in blunter language: Happiness can be yours. Just don’t try to grab it! The pursuit of happiness is the first path to unhappiness. I'm not trying to preach just wanna lay it out there. Whether you get it or not is depended upon how much sleep you get (studies have shown that the more you sleep the more stupid you will become)...know what I mean :-)

This has been my third time photographing these little gems. This time around I want to do something different something I have never tried before on these lotuses. I have done close-up. I have shot wide open to get the smooth bokeh. I have composed tightly to isolate the subject....

This time I was more than fortunate. It was a partly cloudy day so the light was beautifully filtered through the clouds. Even though it was well beyond the golden hours I was still able to get plenty of the gentle soft light. Aperture was set at 4 and that was the setting for the rest of the shoot. Under a 30minute time constraint I set out to do the complete opposite of what I had been doing. No isolation. More background. Shooting through grass. Screw the smooth bokeh. blah blah blah. So there we go the results ...adios until next time!
