Pursuing street photography is somewhat self conflicting to me. I'm not exactly interested in people but I'm more intrigued in their way of life. I like chasing after that special light that only I can see casting on their faces, freezing those split second moments of life that no one else notices and bringing it home. It isn't photography. It is the photographs that make it possible to reach life eternity through the moment. 

I find street photo very tricky especially in metropolitan areas where big crowds are mixed in with disarray of bill boards trashcans and other unattractive articles making it very hard to compose a clean photo. Another challenge for me on street is to be as discreet unintrusive and invisible as possible. I like to catch those unguarded moments. No artificial posing no pretentiousness no lies just pure simple natural honest truth of life...whether those moments are happy sad positive negative they are what real life is about.

But I have to admit. For some odd reasons, every once in a while, I like being caught in the act just right before I can move the camera away pretending like I'm shooting something else. Some would express curiosity. Others would stare right through the lense and wonder. Most would smile genuinely for the camera. Whatever the reaction is, the emotional expression is seemingly unbeatable. The direct eye contact. It almost feels like being pierced right through the soul...exposed, vulnerable yet equally pleasant.
