It was about 4am but thousands and thousands of tourists were flowing in from all directions. I'm guessing people were trying to escape the intense heat of Siem Reap during the day as well as catch the famous sunrise over the Angkor Wat temple complex. I saw many business opportunities but there was only one little street cart selling coffee and croissants. ONLY ONE! Come on Cambodian people, get up get to work and make money! Needless to say the line was hella long but we all patiently stood there waiting our turns and appreciating the cool dry weather.

Except for the scorching heat I think Siem Reap is a great place to visit. People are extremely kind and willing to speak English to foreigners. Not that its expected but it was definitely icing on the cake. You dont even need to exchange money since paying a dollar or two for anything is usually more than what its worth. The only thing is make sure your dollar bills are as new as possible with nothing spilled or written on them or they wont be accepted.

I went through a series of huge temples including Ta Prohm where part of Tomb Raider was filmed. Its pretty amazing to see how nature is slowly destroying the ruins with giant tree roots. Sunrise on Angkor Wat was nice but not as impressive. Its strange you dont always see clear blue skies over Siem Reap even though it had always been sunny.
