Our culture is biased against quiet and reserved people, but introverts are responsible for some of humanitys greatest achievements -- from Steve Wozniaks invention of the Apple computer to J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. Introverts make up a third to a half the population. Thats one out of every two or three people you know. And we're living with a value system where we believe that all creativity and productivity comes from an oddly gregarious place.

I spent most of my youth trying to convince myself I was an extrovert. Because I related introversion to being shy or anti-social. Extroverts were the cool popular kids. But as I've grown older, the more I've come to terms with who I really am. Yes, I am an introvert and extremely proud of it. Despite popular belief, most introverts are far from being timid or fearful. If given the choice to attend a party or stay at home with a good book, I'd probably choose the later. If I'm around extroverts for long periods of time, I'm completely drained by the end of the day.
