Canyon Country

It's Las Vegas for the 2nd time this year but this time around Kai isn't coming. So sad!

I wasn't sure if I was going to take any pictures without my baby but I packed the XT2 anyway just in case. This camera is so so light that it makes taking pictures so much easier. I wanted to take a scenic drive on my day off to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon but was only able to do Zion. The rental car company located right inside the Cosmopolitan hotel makes it convenient but it doesn't open until 7AM. It was a late start but once I got on I15, it was quite an enjoyable drive with the legal speed limit topping 80mph. I'm normally a faster driver when there's no traffic but being to drive fast without going above the law felt quite liberating!

I only had enough time to trek about 2miles round trip to the Emerald Pools. Grand Canyon (over 10 years ago) was majestic in its masculine ways but Zion is equally stunning but somewhat more graceful. The Emeral Pools with a small stream running through the canyon from above to create a delicate waterfall were breathtaking. I believe it was the best time to be there because the leaves were in brilliant colors. So wishing Kai was there in some of these pictures!
